              Heart of Pennsylvania

  • The Heart of Pennsylvania Chorus sings four-part tight harmony and is Central Pennsylvania’s only women’s barbershop chorus.

  • Do YOU like to sing? We are always looking for new singers and new friends. You are most welcome to visit our rehearsals at any time to check us out with no obligation.

  • Our regular rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings, 7-9pm, at Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, 40 S. Third Street in Lewisburg.

  • Check our calendar (link to the left) because we sometimes sing at area functions on Thursday nights so we won't be rehearsing those nights.

  • We rehearse year round and have a revolving repertoire. We are constantly learning new songs and we sing from memory.

  • We are a member of Harmony, Inc., an international singing organization of women who aim to preserve the art of four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style.

  • The chorus is under the direction of Dee Casteel and includes members from Sunbury, Williamsport, Milton, Watsontown, Turbotville, Muncy, Lewisburg, and Jersey Shore.

  • Heart of Pennsylvania has performed at various churches and nursing homes, as well as the Lewisburg Arts Festival, Slifer House, Washingtonville’s Community Hall, the Lutheran Synod Assembly at Susquehanna University, Central Oak Heights, the Community Theater League, and the Selinsgrove Eastern Star in the past year.
